Following some Library blogs

Hello all... just wanted to highlight two blogs that I think are interesting and fun. After looking around at a few sites from the list of blogs given in class... I found two that looked pretty good: Alice in Infoland ( I mean, c'mon... thats a clever title, so the blog's gotta be good right?) and librarystuff.net.

Alice in Infoland is a blog from a retired teacher, its pretty funny and highly enjoyable to read with a bounty of valuable tid bits of information and links to articles and and all sorts of goodies. As a person interested in school libraries, I think this is a blog worth following.

Librarystuff.net is pretty cool as well. Interesting blogs on all sorts of library related topics. Good for staying current on a variety of subject matters relating to libraries/librarians/books/etc. :)

here's the links to check out these two blogs:

long time no sew

So its been awhile since I've posted anything. So when I created this blog it was to post my sewing projects and other creative things I have done.

well... I havent made anything lately. I went back to school and well time doesnt afford me such fun luxuries like sewing lessons with emily.

however, I needed to create a blog and post on it for one of my library science classes... lucky me, I already have a blog. so.... I'll be adding some things that aren't sewing related... just cause i can... and um, have to. :)

Introducing Gertrude

So, I finally took my mama's sewing machine. I named her Gertrude. She's a fickle machine... doesnt like to stay threaded... but thats ok... I'm happy to be able to sew at home. After a few lessons from Emily, I now know how to put the pesky bobbin back in place.
Started a little late in the season, but nevertheless I started my Christmas present making. Six potholders--- more to come! Yes, I am still in 'potholder stage'. Emily of course is making all sorts of super cool gifts and nifty quilts... well people... this season, its potholders from me... maybe next year we will move onto quilts... maybe! :)

Mug Rugs and pot holders

So, Emily made little quilts for her coffee and cookies. Sounds good to me... so i attempted to do one. Well...... i think its not quite my time for mug rugs, i think i will continue to practice with my pot holders. Below is the mug rug Emily made for me. It has cute hedgehogs, mushrooms, and my favorite fabric.... the cute safety pins! I love black and white fabric. :) However, what I DO NOT like.... a fickle machine! Wilma was acting up today.... not cool! Stupid bobbin problems and having to rethread my machine every 5 minutes.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... bad Wilma!!!

Belts and Potholders

Sewing 101 with my friend Emily. I made 2 belts... well, ok... 1 1/2, Emily helped. And I made 1 1/2 potholders. (she helped with those too! :)
I am lucky that Emily has two sewing machines. We affectionately called them, Nancy and Wilma. I use Wilma, the older and more fickle machine. And Emily uses the lovely fancy dancy machine called Nancy (named after "sewing with Nancy").

hello

So in order to follow my friend, Emily's blog, I had to create my own. Not sure how well I will use this, but whatever! Hello world!
